Manager/Dy.Manager - Coke Oven Plant - E & I (CDQ)

Position Name:

Role Objective:

Role Responsibilities:

1. Operations & Reliability

• Ensure reliable functioning of CDQ systems including

  CDQ chamber, cooling fans, waste heat recovery boiler, conveyors, and auxiliaries

  .
• Oversee electrical distribution systems – HT/LT motors, transformers, switchgear, control panels, and drives for CDQ operations.
  
• Ensure continuous operation of

  instrumentation for pressure, flow, level, and temperature monitoring

  in CDQ processes.
• Monitor SCADA/DCS-based control systems for CDQ chamber, boiler parameters, and waste heat power recovery.
  

1. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for CDQ electrical and instrumentation assets.
  
• Troubleshoot failures in fans, motors, VFDs, instrumentation loops, PLC/DCS systems, and interlocks.
  
• Perform root cause analysis of critical breakdowns to enhance equipment availability.
  

1. Automation & Process Control

• Maintain automation logic for

  chamber pressure/temperature control, quenching sequence, and boiler safety interlocks

  .
• Coordinate with process teams for optimizing energy recovery and efficiency in waste heat recovery boiler.
  
• Implement upgrades in PLC/DCS systems, instrumentation, and SCADA for better control and reliability.
  

1. Project Execution & Modernization

• Support commissioning and revamping of CDQ equipment, waste heat boilers, and electrical distribution systems.
  
• Drive modernization projects such as

  energy-efficient motors, regenerative drives, and digital monitoring systems

  .
• Implement new instrumentation and automation technologies for CDQ reliability and safety improvement.
  

1. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict compliance with

  electrical safety, OH&S protocols, and statutory requirements

  in CDQ area.
• Enforce safe work practices, LOTO procedures, and ensure compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, 50001).
  
• Monitor emission and environmental parameters through installed instrumentation to meet regulatory norms.
  

1. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of equipment health, calibration, and downtime logs in SAP/CMMS.
  
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and reliability reports for the CDQ section.
  
• Support statutory inspections, energy audits, and environmental audits related to CDQ operations.
  

1. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and guide engineers, supervisors, and technicians working in CDQ E&I.
  
• Coordinate with mechanical, process, production, and utility teams for smooth CDQ operations.
  
• Train and mentor team members in troubleshooting, safety practices, and advanced control systems.
  

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of

  CDQ systems

  – chamber, waste heat recovery boiler, fans, and auxiliaries.
• Expertise in

  PLC/DCS/SCADA systems

  for CDQ process automation.
• Proficiency in

  instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level sensors)

  and analyzer systems.
• Hands-on experience in

  HT/LT systems, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, and digital drives

  .
• Analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  
• Strong focus on

  safety, energy efficiency, and emission control

  .

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering.

• 10-12 Years of Experience in CDQ Coke Oven Plant.
  
• Hands-on experience in

  commissioning, operation, and maintenance of CDQ systems

  .
• Familiarity with ISO standards, SAP/CMMS, and statutory compliance in Coke Oven/CDQ plants
