Position OverviewThe Manager – Sustainable Fisheries & Coastal Livelihoods, will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of community-based fisheries management and coastal livelihood development initiatives. This role is central to strengthening fisher collectives, promoting sustainable fishing practices, and enhancing climate-resilient livelihood opportunities for coastal communities. He will supervise field teams, coordinate with government departments and community institutions, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and oversee documentation, reporting, and project logistics. The position demands strong technical understanding of coastal fisheries along with coastal ecosystems, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders in dynamic field environments and drive internal learning to strengthen programme outcomes in close coordination with the Leadership Team of the NEWS.Key Responsibilities
1. Sustainable Fisheries & Livelihood Management
- Lead sustainable fisheries initiatives integrating fisher groups and livelihood diversification.
- Support and mobilize fisher groups for adhering sustainable fishing practices and strengthening the existing value chain.
2. Field Coordination & Community Engagement
- Supervise field facilitators and conduct community meetings.
- Facilitate trainings and capacity-building of the fishers community .
3. Coastal Restoration & Ecosystem Protection
- Coordinate coastal ecosystem restoration where relevant.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
- Collaborate with Fisheries, Forest, Panchayats departments, and other partners and stakeholders.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Maintain MIS, data, documentation, and support MEAL team of NEWS.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual donor reports.

Remuneration:
₹50,000 – ₹55,000 per month (based on experience & qualification). For highly suitable candidates, the remuneration may be negotiable/adjustable beyond this range.
✔ Provident Fund (PF): Applicable after the probationary period.

Contract Period:
Initially for one year, renewable based on performance and program requirements.
