Manager Sourcing - Grocery

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Owns supplier acquisition/ management for the city
• Ensure product availability and selection depth.
• Identify, onboard, and develop suppliers aligned with category needs.
• Negotiate pricing, stock intensity, supply timelines to drive competitiveness.
• Monitor supplier performance (fulfilment rates, cancellations, quality issues).
• Resolve supply bottlenecks and work with demand lead for city balance.
• Build strong supplier relationships to drive loyalty and retention.
• Coordinate with demand generation strategy for the city to meet GMV, transacting buyer base and order targets.
• Monitor and drive customer base growth through engagements with ground team. Digital campaigns, field activations, strategic sourcing partnerships, and seller level BTL activities.
• Analyse buyer cohorts, buyer behaviour, order trends, and market insights to improve demand pipeline.
• Monitor daily metrics (Qty sold, daily active buyers, Assortment freshness, Price competitiveness, Stock intensity) and take corrective action.
• Work closely with demand and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.

An ideal candidate for this role is someone who has-

• MBA/ bachelor's degree.
• Hands-on experience 8 – 10 years in sourcing/ seller management, preferably in B2B/B2C marketplaces.
• Regional language proficiency.
• Result oriented approach and a sense of independence, entrepreneurship and self-motivation.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across functions within the organization.
• Problem Solving and decision making attitude.
• Strong attitude to be a team player.
