Job Title: Manager – Safety (EHS)

Location: Bachau, Gandhidham (Gujarat)
Annual CTC: Up to ₹12 Lakhs

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Industrial Safety / Environment Science / Chemistry
• Professional certification in Safety Management preferred (e.g., NEBOSH / IOSH / Industrial Safety Diploma)
• 12–18 years of experience in safety management with hazardous gases & chemicals

Key Responsibilities

1. Hazardous Gases & Chemical Safety

• Develop and enforce safety systems for handling hazardous gases (e.g., Ammonia, Chlorine, LPG, H2S).
• Implement chemical storage, handling, and disposal procedures.
• Ensure gas leak detection systems, alarms, and firefighting systems are in place and tested.

2. Risk Assessment & Process Safety

• Conduct HAZOP, HIRA, and Job Safety Analysis for critical operations.
• Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for high-risk activities.
• Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) practices.

3. Compliance & Regulatory Liaison

• Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Environmental & Safety regulations, PESO, and GPCB norms.
• Liaise with external auditors, government bodies, and statutory agencies.

4. Emergency Preparedness & Training

• Lead emergency response planning, mock drills, and evacuation plans.
• Conduct training for employees and contractors on chemical handling, gas safety, and fire prevention.

5. Incident Investigation & Reporting

• Lead investigations of accidents, gas leaks, or near-miss incidents.
• Prepare RCA reports and implement corrective and preventive actions.

6. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead a team of safety officers and supervisors.
• Drive a safety-first culture across operations.
• Regularly report safety KPIs and performance to top management.

Candidate Profile

• Strong background in chemical/process industries.
• Practical expertise in hazardous gases & chemical safety management.
• Good communication in Hindi & English.
• Proficient in MS Office & safety documentation systems.
• Strong leadership, crisis management & decision-making skills.
