Manager, Public Policy (Tech Policy Focus)

Role Description

Prior experience in tech policy is essential, given the nature of upcoming staffing needs.

As a Manager, you will be responsible for guiding your team through research and analysis, while owning client relationships. This includes supporting clients in designing advocacy strategies, building meaningful partnerships, and engaging with government, media, and other stakeholders in the tech policy ecosystem. You may also be expected to present evidence-based insights to policymakers to inform ongoing deliberations.

Beyond client-facing work, you’ll contribute to TQH’s thought leadership in emerging tech policy areas by leading in-house research and representing our work externally. Lastly, you’ll collaborate with colleagues to strengthen civic engagement and participatory governance through support to YLAC’s initiatives.

Qualifications required

– Degree from a reputed university in law/public policy/ related fields or experience in public policy research, advocacy, and government partnerships

– 6-8 years of work experience

– Strong analytical skills

– Ability to present information in a structured and insightful manner

– Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail

– Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a strong desire to learn new skills

Description of TQH’s engagements

By design, TQH is a multisectoral firm with diverse projects in technology, telecom, energy policy, gender inclusion and social sector policies. We work extensively on issues of data protection and privacy, intermediary liability, digital competition, AI regulation, digital public infrastructure as well as regulation of new business models in fintech and telecom. We lead policy assignments for several tech majors and collaborate with industry bodies like NASSCOM, IAMAI, BIF, and IEIC. TQH supports policies that empower women in partnership with the World Bank, UN Women, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and IWWAGE. We also work on research and advocacy on issues of accessibility, disability rights, financial inclusion, and circularity, in collaboration with governments and key stakeholders.

Additionally, we enhance research-based civic engagement and participatory governance by assisting offices of Members of Parliament, Members of State Legislatures, Government Ministries and institutions with research and advocacy on legislative and policy issues through our policy learning arm Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC).
