MANAGER - PMDI

Job Purpose

• Drive initiatives and projects in the area of packing material development arising out of various changes in the existing designs of packing materials or introduction of new packing materials and vendors
• Compliance to relevant statutory requirements related to packaging
  

Business Responsibility Areas

• Take up projects of packing material development which may be initiated because of requirements from New Product Development, Purchase, Marketing or design change requests raised by plants
• Monitor and track progress in all the projects taken up by department so as to ensure timely completion
• Understand and analyze customer complaints, propose solutions and implement the same
• Identify cost effective packaging, propose and take up cost saving projects
• Track developments in packaging domain and explore innovation opportunities for superior quality / customer experience / cost advantages
• Prepare monthly reports to be circulated to hierarchy and Purchase – TC based recommendations, TC based deletions, Upapproval (what is this?) Calendar, Savings Tracker, six monthly self-certification of APQS processes, Tracker of Cost Increase because of Packaging Changes, Objective List Status Tracker
• Analyze and propose changes in specifications and test methods
• Ensure compliance to statutory requirements related to declarations on pack
• Comply with 5-S requirements for their respective work stations and common areas belonging to department
• Work on IT enablement projects
• Build knowledge base on recent trends in packing materials, printing technologies, etc.
• Development of new vendors – vendor audits, shortlist and make a proposal for new vendor introduction
  

Qualifications

• Essential - Post graduate from Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), SIES or comparable institutes
  

Previous Experience

• Essential - 8-10 years in area of packaging development in FMCG Industry
• Desired - Experience in PM Purchase, PM Development
