Job Description

Hiring for Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of the warehouse and logistics functions and ensure efficient and effective management of inventory, procurement, replenishment and distribution.

Operational Excellence:

  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies to improve warehouse operations, including inventory management, purchase and distribution.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency of warehouse processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Ensure that all operational activities are carried out in compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

Logistics & Warehouse Management:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate transportation activities to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Negotiate contracts with carriers and freight forwarders to optimize costs while maintaining service quality.
  • Monitor transportation routes and schedules to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of logistics operations and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and provide leadership to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Oversee inventory management processes, including receiving, storage, and order fulfillment.
  • Implement best practices for warehouse layout, organization, and space utilization to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Inventory Control:

  • Conduct regular inventory reviws to maintain accurate stock levels and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Implement inventory tracking systems and technologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work closely with procurement and sales teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet customer needs.

Purchase Management:

  • Manage the procurement process from purchase order to delivery, ensuring on-time delivery of goods.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise in terms of Quality/on time delivery, payment etc.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of procurement process and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Ensure all import and export activities follow customs regulations to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
  • Oversee the coordination of international shipments, including freight forwarding, to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods across borders.
  • Monitor and manage risks associated with international trade, such as delays, duties, and tariffs, to minimize supply chain disruptions and maintain operational efficiency.

Safety, Environment and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for warehouse staff.
  • Implement safety activities and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries & EMS 14001
  • Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to logistics and warehouse operations and ensure compliance.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor warehouse staff to build a high-performing team.
  • Set performance goals and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the logistics and warehouse department.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Any Bachelor's degree, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience 5-6 years experience in logistics, procurement and warehouse management, preferably from industrial background
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain concepts, including transportation, inventory management, and warehousing.
  • Knowledge in Customs duty & customs clearance documents.
  • Knowledge in EPR, CBC, Advance license, DGFT.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as ERP systems, WMS, and TMS.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations EMS , QMS, OHS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
