Job Description

About the Role:

Role & responsibilities

1. Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory & Statutory Approvals:

  • Obtain all necessary electrical and statutory approvals including:
    • CEIG (Chief Electrical Inspector to the Government)

      approvals for energization and commissioning.
    • DISCOM connectivity and synchronization permissions

      (including synchronization agreements, meter testing, and sealing).
    • SLDC coordination

      for scheduling approvals, SCADA registration, and real-time data visibility.
    • MPPCL / MPPTCL

      interface agreements and project-specific documentation (for state PPA cases).
  • Liaise with

    local electricity boards and circle offices

    for permissions and site inspections.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Prepare and submit technical drawings, safety compliance documents, and inspection reports.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all approval stages and correspondence with authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with MNRE, CEA, and state-level solar policy requirements.

Technical Coordination:

  • Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Project Execution, Quality) to ensure readiness for CEIG and DISCOM inspections.
  • Ensure timely installation and commissioning of metering systems, SCADA, and remote terminal units (RTUs) as per grid code.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as the single point of contact with state electricity departments, DISCOM engineers, and third-party consultants involved in the approval process.
  • Escalate and resolve bottlenecks that delay permissions or commissioning timelines.

2. Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in solar power projects, especially in

    ground-mount utility-scale projects

    with

    state DISCOM PPA involvement

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    electrical safety regulations, CEIG norms, DISCOM procedures

    , and SCADA/data communication protocols.
  • Excellent coordination and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with MP-specific regulatory environment will be an advantage.

3. Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience working on projects in Madhya Pradesh, especially Khargone region.
  • Prior relationships with local CEIG officers, DISCOM engineers, and MPPTCL officials.
  • Ability to travel across multiple sites and government offices as needed.
