Job Description

As a Regulatory Compliance Manager at American Express, you will play a crucial role in supporting the proactive identification, assessment, and implementation of regulatory changes across the organization to ensure adherence to evolving regulations. You will lead a team of analysts responsible for continuously monitoring domestic and international regulatory developments, utilizing automated tools for horizon scanning and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of new regulations, amendments, and repeals. Your responsibilities will include supporting Regulatory Change Management triggered by business updates, conducting business impact analysis, providing oversight in updating the global legal inventory system, and interpreting complex datasets related to new regulations for risk assessments and compliance strategies. You will collaborate with legal professionals to map laws, rules, and regulations to business processes, products, and services, ensuring effective controls are in place to mitigate regulatory risks. Additionally, you will develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure regulatory change management effectiveness, present findings to senior management, and coordinate with internal audit functions to ensure regulatory compliance. Your qualifications should include a Bachelor's degree in law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Banking and Financial Services, including at least 2 years in compliance or regulatory change management. Advanced degrees, professional regulatory compliance certifications, and experience with data analysis tools are preferred. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, project management abilities, and proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and risk assessment. Additionally, you should demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders, and a track record of building lasting partnerships across local and remote teams.
