Job Description

Purpose of the position To develop an appropriate IT strategy for business process improvement in Finance areas To be the primary reference point for all Finance process discussions with the business To lead the design and development of best practice business processes; and develop measurable business improvement through these processes To architect the usage of IT applications which enables these business processes and to identify and deliver initiatives which enable their continuous improvement To manage the prioritization and delivery of IT work requests for processes in scope Principal responsibilities Internal consultant to the business for continuous business process improvement and exploitation of the IT investment largely in SAP and other applications Accountable, as part of the IT team for the delivery of SAP and other application service in the function Collaboration with business in formulating business process strategy & programs for business area; stay abreast of business changes which could impact SAP systems design Provide measurable contribution to margin and ROCE for the supported businesses through continuous process improvement Provide the interface between IT and the business for the relevant business process area and design SAP and e application solutions in response to business requests Identification of opportunities for technological / strategic change within business area to improve business performance and gain competitive edge Business process design and improvement in collaboration with business Architecture of IS applications usage consistent with global IS strategy; overall responsibility for functionality delivered by the application; reference point for SAP and e application in the business area Support the development of business case & facilitate progress through project life cycle; facilitation of user ownership and involvement in deployment Realisation of business benefits from SAP and other business cases to ensure cost/return objectives achieved Develop and manage a strong team of Business Process Specialists who act as consultants to the business Coordinate resources with required centres: i.e. Software Development Centre / Global Development Centre; Global Centre of Excellence, to ensure continuity and delivery of new functionality Establishing best practice across the region; global collaboration with peers in agreeing standards Required critical behaviors Encourages innovation and the search for new solutions Be a strong Consultant and mentor staff to develop strong consultancy competencies Takes responsibility for employees performance Clearly and assertively expresses him/herself Flexible and Open to other people’s point of view Work effectively within global peer teams Required key skills (functional/technical) Significant experience within the appropriate business speciality, with prior experience of managing a team. Prior responsibility for strategic direction would be preferred. Expert knowledge of SAP application in S4/Hana Finance (FICO) functional area. Desired experience in SAP Fiori Apps. Extensive experience of managing complex projects Extensive knowledge of business processes and application functionality to enable the resolution of complex problems and influence continuous improvement Strong degree of strategic business knowledge Strong understanding of Leadership team/Steering Committee -specific business needs and ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with business management Understanding of Information Technology and a deep appreciation of it’s business application Strong understanding and demonstrated use of IS and how it can be used for competitive advantage to support the business process Able to explore technology and use leading edge thinking in order to broaden the knowledge of the business and transfer knowledge to the users Ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees both local and global within the Linde Group Required qualifications/experience Degree in appropriate functional area 10+ years of experience in SAP FI/CO process as a functional expert in an similar industry/sized organization.
