Description
You are an experienced and proactive Air Freight Manager responsible for leading air cargo forwarding operations and driving service excellence. Your primary location of work will be Gurugram. Your key responsibilities will include negotiating and securing competitive air freight rates with airlines and carriers, managing end-to-end air export processes, and developing strong relationships with airline partners, co-loaders, and overseas agents. You will work closely with sales, operations, and customer service teams to align procurement strategies with client requirements. Monitoring market trends, carrier performance, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and service enhancements will also be part of your role. Additionally, you will support business development efforts by leveraging procurement insights to win new accounts and retain existing clients. Preparing and reviewing reports related to freight rates, carrier performance, and shipment metrics, as well as ensuring timely communication with stakeholders regarding booking confirmations, delays, or service issues, will be crucial. Compliance with all applicable regulations, including IATA, TSA, and local customs requirements, is also essential. To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or a related field. You must have a minimum of 6 to 9 years of experience in air freight operations within the freight forwarding industry. Strong negotiation and analytical skills are essential, along with a proven track record of securing cost-effective air freight solutions. In-depth knowledge of air cargo routing, airline service structures, and international trade compliance is required.
