Job Description

Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the complete accounting operations of the manufacturing unit, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, maintain accurate financial records, and support management in decision-making through timely financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations AP, AR, General Ledger, Banking, Payroll, etc.
  • Ensure timely recording of all financial transactions in ERP/Tally
  • Review and authorize Month end closing journal entries,  and provisions etc.
  • Manage accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods as per cost accounting principles.
  • Review and Maintain Fixed asset register and accounting.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Assist in Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Conduct variance analysis against budget and highlight key observations to management.
  • Ensure timely closing of books and coordinate with auditors for statutory and internal audits.
  • Review periodic reports generated by team.

3. Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with

    Income Tax

    , and other statutory laws.
  • Oversee filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C, TDS returns, etc.
  • Handle tax assessments, reconciliations (2A/2B), and respond to notices from authorities.
  • Working knowledge of Export benefits , Transfer pricing

4. Costing & Inventory Control

  • to monitor material consumption, wastages, and stock valuation.
  • Support in product costing, cost variance analysis, and profitability reports.
  • Implement internal controls for inventory movement, consumption, and reconciliation.

5. Budgeting & MIS

  • Assist management in preparation of MIS , annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Generate periodic MIS reports on sales, expenses, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Provide analytical insights for cost reduction and margin improvement.

6. Internal Controls & Process Improvements

  • Review and enforce accounting policies, SOPs, and internal control systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record retention as per statutory norms.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to streamline financial processes.
  • Ensure Accounting software in line with Accounting principal and requirement.

7. Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of accountants and support staff.
  • Allocate responsibilities, review work, and ensure training for team development.
