About the Role

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading the maintenance, reliability, and asset performance of all equipment across PET and Can filling operations. The role involves developing a proactive maintenance culture that ensures maximum uptime, optimized costs, and high equipment efficiency while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing high-speed beverage filling lines, advanced utilities, and automated systems in a fast-paced manufacturing setup.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PPM)

  • Develop and implement structured preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all filling lines, utilities, and support equipment.
  • Schedule maintenance activities with minimal production downtime and maximum equipment reliability.
  • Analyze machine breakdown data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain calibration and validation schedules for all critical instruments.
  1. Equipment & Asset Reliability

  • Monitor and optimize OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) and machine uptime across PET and Can filling lines.
  • Introduce reliability engineering tools such as RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) and FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis).
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure equipment performance meets output and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain an updated asset register with equipment history and maintenance logs.
  1. Utilities & Plant Support Systems

  • Oversee operation and maintenance of utilities such as compressors, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and water treatment plants.
  • Ensure continuous availability and performance of essential services supporting production.
  • Drive energy efficiency programs and sustainability initiatives in utilities operations.
  1. Breakdown & Corrective Maintenance

  • Ensure swift and effective response to unplanned breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain critical spares inventory and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
  • Lead troubleshooting activities for mechanical, electrical, and automation issues.
  1. Projects & Upgrades

  • Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new filling lines and plant expansions.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and contractors for technical upgrades, retrofits, and modifications.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance cost.
  1. Documentation & Systems

  • Maintain complete maintenance documentation, including checklists, SOPs, and logbooks.
  • Implement and manage Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking and reporting.
  • Ensure audit readiness by maintaining accurate records of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  1. People Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, and contractors.
  • Drive a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct technical training programs to enhance team competency in automation, PLC, and mechatronic systems.
  1. Safety, Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Boiler Act, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) and other safety procedures during maintenance activities.
  • Support EHS team in audits, risk assessments, and workplace safety initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: B.E. B. Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 -15 years in maintenance and reliability management within beverage, FMCG, or process industries.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintenance of PET and Can filling lines, utilities, automation systems (PLC, SCADA), and high-speed packaging machinery.
  • Knowledge: TPM, RCM, 5S, and energy management best practices.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving abilities; effective communication and vendor management.
  • Preferred Background: Experience in multinational beverage plants or high-volume filling line operations.
