Location : Supa-Parner Industrial Park, Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar), Maharashtra, India Department : Engineering Reporting To : Plant Manager OR Chief Operating Officer (COO) Industry : Beverage Packaging & Filling Role Position Overview The Engineering Manager will lead all engineering, maintenance, and project functions for the PET and Can filling operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring asset reliability, equipment efficiency, and plant uptime, while driving continuous improvement, energy optimization, and compliance with global engineering standards. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in beverage or FMCG manufacturing with hands-on leadership experience managing high-speed filling and packaging lines. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Reliability Develop and implement a comprehensive Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PPM) program for all plant equipment. Ensure zero unplanned downtime through structured reliability improvement plans. Monitor MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) to enhance asset performance. Ensure the calibration and validation of all process and utility instruments. Maintain an updated asset management register and technical documentation. Project Management & Commissioning Lead installation, commissioning, and validation of new PET and Can filling lines. Manage plant expansion, line upgrades, and automation projects within cost, scope, and time constraints. Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and contractors for project execution and performance validation. Drive digitalization and adoption of smart manufacturing systems (IoT, SCADA, CMMS). Utilities & Energy Management Oversee operation and maintenance of utilities including compressors, chillers, boilers, RO/DM water systems, and HVAC. Implement energy-saving initiatives and monitor power, water, and fuel consumption through efficiency KPIs. Ensure compliance with statutory and environmental standards for utilities and waste management. Technical Excellence & Continuous Improvement Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) methodologies. Lead Kaizen and Six Sigma projects to enhance process reliability and equipment performance. Analyze chronic failures and implement sustainable corrective actions. Maintain a high standard of plant housekeeping and equipment safety (5S, LOTO). People Leadership & Development Lead and mentor engineering, maintenance, and utilities teams to develop technical and behavioral competencies. Build a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Conduct regular technical training programs for operators and maintenance technicians. Compliance, Safety & Audit Readiness Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) norms and statutory compliance (Factory Act, Boiler Act, Energy Audit norms). Prepare the plant for internal, customer, and external audits. Drive safety-first culture across all engineering and maintenance activities. Candidate Profile Education: B.E. B. Tech in Mechanical, Production, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering. Experience: Minimum 12 - 15 years in beverage, FMCG, or process manufacturing; at least 5 years in a senior engineering/maintenance leadership role. Soft Skills: Strategic mindset, strong problem-solving ability, vendor negotiation skills, and team leadership. Preferred Background: High-speed PET bottling or Can filling line experience in a modern automated environment. Technical Competencies Expertise in high-speed filling and packaging line maintenance (PET & aluminium cans). Proficiency in automation systems, PLC, SCADA, SAP PM, AutoCAD, and CMMS systems. Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and utility systems. Knowledge of energy optimization, Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, TPM, RCM, and lean manufacturing principles. Experience in project commissioning, CAPEX planning, and vendor management. Awareness of statutory and environmental compliance in manufacturing operations.
