About the Role
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire financial management, accounting, and compliance framework of the PET and Can filling plant. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost optimization, statutory compliance, and effective internal controls, while supporting business decision-making and long-term growth strategies. The incumbent will act as a strategic partner to the plant leadership, providing insights that enhance profitability, productivity, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for plant operations.
- Monitor monthly financial performance and prepare detailed MIS and management dashboards.
- Conduct profitability analysis by product line (PET & Cans) and recommend cost improvement initiatives.
- Support the COO and Group CFO with financial insights for decision-making and performance tracking.
Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee end-to-end accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Implement robust internal controls and accounting procedures in compliance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and inventory valuations.
Costing & Budgetary Control
- Develop and maintain standard cost systems for PET and Can filling lines.
- Monitor cost variances and analyze deviations in raw material, packaging, and overhead costs.
- Coordinate with production and procurement teams to ensure cost efficiency and margin improvement.
- Drive cost reduction projects and ensure adherence to budgetary discipline across departments.
Statutory Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards, GST, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other applicable laws.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and tax consultants to ensure smooth audits and filings.
- Oversee compliance with import/export documentation, customs regulations, and foreign remittance processes.
- Support adherence to group governance policies and reporting standards.
Treasury & Working Capital Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements efficiently.
- Monitor receivables, payables, and credit control to maintain optimal cash cycles.
- Handle banking operations, including LC, BG, and fund management.
- Explore opportunities for financial cost optimization (interest, forex exposure, etc.).
ERP Systems, Controls & Automation
- Implement and monitor ERP/SAP-based financial systems for accuracy and transparency.
- Ensure integration between production, procurement, and finance modules for end-to-end visibility.
- Support digital initiatives and financial automation tools for reporting and compliance.
Strategic Business Support
- Partner with operations and commercial teams for pricing strategies and contract analysis.
- Evaluate capital expenditure (CAPEX) proposals and prepare ROI/IRR analyses.
- Provide financial due diligence and scenario modelling for expansion projects and new investments.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop the plant finance and accounts team for strong functional and analytical capabilities.
- Drive a culture of integrity, accuracy, and accountability within the finance function.
- Facilitate continuous learning on new accounting, compliance, and reporting practices.
Candidate Profile
- Education: CA / CMA from a recognized institute.
- Experience: Minimum 12-15 years of experience in manufacturing or beverage/FMCG industries with exposure to plant finance.
- Skills: Strong analytical ability, commercial acumen, and strategic business partnering mindset.
- Preferred Background: Experience in managing multi-site manufacturing or group reporting environments.
Technical Competencies
Candidate should demonstrate strong proficiency in:
- Financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting (FP&A)
- Plant costing: standard costing, BOM, variance analysis
- Manufacturing finance: OEE cost impacts, production KPIs, waste analysis
- Statutory frameworks: Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, FEMA
- Capital budgeting: ROI, IRR, sensitivity analysis
- Financial reporting: Indian GAAP / IFRS compliance
- Advanced Excel, Financial Modelling, ERP (SAP/Oracle preferred)
- Audit management: statutory, internal, and SOX / IFC controls
- Working capital optimization strategies, Cost control, Statutory compliance.
- Treasury operations: LC, BG, hedging, forex management
