About The Opportunity

Operating within the Banking & Financial Services technology sector, our organization delivers mission-critical mainframe solutions that keep high-volume transaction systems resilient, secure, and compliant for global enterprises. We leverage decades of z/OS expertise to modernize legacy estates while maintaining absolute uptime and data integrity.Role: Mainframe CICS Engineer (On-Site, India)You will be the primary custodian of CICS transaction regions that power real-time banking workloads. Your mandate: maximize availability, optimize performance, and drive continuous improvement across development, test, and production LPARs.Key Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and tune CICS TS regions to meet strict SLA, throughput, and security objectives.
Design, code, and maintain COBOL/CICS applications and supporting JCL, ensuring efficient CPU and memory utilization.
Investigate and resolve production incidents using dump analysis, IPCS, Abend-AID, and trace utilities for rapid root-cause isolation.
Execute impact analysis, unit tests, and deployments for change requests, adhering to ITIL-aligned change governance.
Collaborate with DB2, MQ, storage, and network teams to optimize end-to-end transaction flow and data integrity.
Create and update technical documentation, automation scripts, and runbooks to standardize operations and reduce manual effort.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

5+ years hands-on experience with CICS TS on z/OS and COBOL programming.
Advanced proficiency in JCL, DB2, VSAM file handling, and MQ middleware.
Strong knowledge of performance tuning, SMF/RMF monitoring, and Abend analysis.
Proven track record in SDLC, change, and release management within regulated environments.

Preferred

Exposure to CICSPlex/SM, CTS 6.x enhancements, or Sysplex configurations.
Experience modernizing mainframe services via API Gateways, REST enablement, or hybrid cloud integration.
