As a Logistics Manager in the plastic manufacturing industry, your role is crucial in overseeing and optimizing supply chain and logistics operations. Your responsibilities include: - Supply Chain & Logistics Management: - Plan, coordinate, and monitor the entire supply chain including procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution. - Optimize logistics strategies to minimize costs and improve efficiency. - Develop and implement best practices for inventory control and material handling. - Warehouse & Inventory Management: - Oversee inventory management to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize waste. - Implement inventory control measures to prevent shortages or overstocking. - Coordinate with production and sales teams to forecast demand and manage stock levels. - Transportation & Distribution: - Manage domestic and international shipments of raw materials and finished products. - Negotiate contracts with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers. - Ensure timely delivery of goods while optimizing transportation costs. - Compliance & Safety: - Ensure compliance with local and international logistics regulations, including hazardous material handling and customs requirements. - Implement safety protocols for material handling and transportation. - Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory compliance. - Cost Control & Budgeting: - Monitor logistics expenses and develop cost-saving initiatives. - Prepare and manage the logistics budget to align with company goals. - Analyze financial data to optimize logistics spending. - Team Leadership & Vendor Management: - Lead and train logistics staff to improve efficiency and performance. - Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to ensure smooth operations. - Conduct performance evaluations and negotiate vendor contracts.
