Job Summary:

Linux Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and networks.
• Apply patches, updates, and security configurations.
• Manage system backups and recovery.
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Support deployment and maintenance of applications in production and development environments.
• Ensure server and network security through proper configuration and monitoring.
• Collaborate with development, network, and security teams for system optimization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 6 months – 2 years of experience as a Linux/System Administrator.
• Proficiency in Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu).
• Basic understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP, IP routing, firewalls).
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Python preferred).
• Knowledge of system monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.).
• Familiarity with virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
• Understanding of DevOps tools (Docker, Jenkins, Git) will be an advantage.

Preferred Certifications (optional):

• RHCSA / RHCE
