Librarian

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage daily operations of the school library, including cataloging, lending, and shelving of books and digital resources.
2. Maintain an up-to-date and engaging collection of books, periodicals, and digital content.
3. Support students and staff in locating and using library resources for reading and research.
4. Promote reading habits through reading programs, book clubs, and library activities.
5. Ensure an inclusive, safe, and quiet environment conducive to study and reading.
6. Organize book fairs, author visits, and literacy events.
7. Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum-based reading and research projects.
8. Maintain records of library transactions, inventory, and usage statistics.
9. Implement and manage library software systems for cataloging and circulation.
10. Ensure compliance with school policies and data privacy standards related to library use.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor s or Master s degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) or a related field.
2. Prior experience in a school library is preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of library management systems and digital tools.
4. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to engage students across age groups and reading levels.
6. Passion for books, reading, and education.
