Job Summary for Legal Head:

legal & liasoning

Desired Skills and Experience -

  • Legal Research, Analysis and executive reporting
  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation
  • Dispute Resolution and Litigation, arbitration process/proceedings
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Should handle all the revenue departments like, Tahasildar, Asst. Commissioner, Dy. Commissioner, BBMP, BDA, BIPA, KIADB, BMRDA pertaining to lands/agricultural/non-agricultural/Industrial.
  • To coordinate/ liaison & handle all required departments for the purpose of getting clearances, NOCs for getting sanctions of layouts, residential gated community, Apartments, Tech parks & Commercial buildings.

  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Attention to Detail

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Legal Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Monitor and update internal policies in line with legal requirements.
  2. Contract Management:

    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure the companys full legal rights.
    • Ensure contracts are compliant and mitigate potential risks.
    • Represent the company in legal proceedings, if necessary, including litigation and arbitration.
  3. Litigation Management:

    • Manage litigation and disputes, working with external legal counsel as required.
    • Represent the organization in legal proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations.
  4. Advisory Role:

    • Provide legal advice and support to management and various departments.
    • Educate and train employees on legal topics and compliance matters.
  5. Corporate Governance:

    • Ensure proper governance practices are in place, including board meetings and resolutions.
    • Provide expert legal support and advice to management on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate, commercial, and employment law.
    • Maintain corporate records and documentation.
    • Coordinate with external legal counsel as needed and manage legal budgets.
    • Handle complex legal matters and projects, providing strategic solutions and support.
    • Conduct training and awareness sessions for staff on legal and compliance matters.
    • Liaise with external legal firms for specialized advice or representation.

PERSON OVERVIEW -

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM).
  • Minimum of 15-25 years of experience in corporate law, legal compliance, or related fields in real estate.
  • Proven experience in contract management, litigation, and legal advisory.
  • Strong understanding of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

KRA & KPI:

Legal Compliance & Risk Management -

KRA:

  • 100% compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct quarterly legal audits and resolve issues within the defined timeline.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce legal liabilities.
  • Number of compliance training sessions conducted annually.

2. Contract Drafting, Review & Management

KRA:

  • Review and finalize contracts within the standard turnaround time (e.g., 5-7 working days).
  • Maintain a centralized and updated contract repository.
  • Minimize contract disputes by ensuring clear and legally sound agreements.
  • Percentage of contracts negotiated without disputes or litigation.

3. Litigation & Dispute Resolution

KRA:

  • Successfully handle at least 80% of legal disputes in-house without escalation.
  • Reduce external legal expenses by through strategic case management.
  • Number of cases settled in favor of the company.
  • Timely closure of pending litigations within the set deadline.

4. Legal Advisory & Stakeholder Support

KRA:

  • Respond to internal legal queries within 48 hours.
  • Conduct legal awareness programs for employees (minimum 2-3 per year).
  • Management satisfaction score on legal support (measured via feedback).

5. Corporate Governance & Regulatory Filings

KRA:

  • 100% timely filing of statutory reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Ensure corporate governance best practices are followed.
  • Conduct governance training sessions for senior management annually.

6. Policy Development & Implementation

KRA:

  • Develop and update at least 3-4 key legal policies per year.
  • Achieve 100% policy adherence across all departments.
  • Monitor and address policy violations within a set timeframe.

7. External Legal Coordination & Cost Management

KRA:

  • Reduce reliance on external legal counsel by handling at least 50% of cases in-house.
  • Ensure timely payments and agreements with external legal firms.
  • Cost savings achieved through effective in-house legal management.
