Legal Associate - Corporate Law

Role Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Associate – Corporate Law to support the company’s legal function with a strong focus on drafting and reviewing agreements. The role involves preparing internal and external corporate, commercial, and private equity contracts, conducting legal research, and maintaining organised documentation of all legal matters. This position will also assist in negotiations and work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and senior legal members to ensure compliance, minimise risks, and streamline legal processes.

Key Responsibilities:

● Draft, review, and vet internal and external agreements, including corporate, commercial, and investment-related contracts.

● Prepare agreements specific to private equity and venture capital transactions.

● Support negotiations by preparing draft proposals, revisions, and maintaining version control of agreements.

● Conduct thorough legal research to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices.

● Maintain well-structured documentation and organise all legal matters, agreements, and supporting records.

● Liaise with external counsels and stakeholders for inputs, reviews, and approvals.

● Identify legal risks in agreements and recommend commercially viable solutions.

● Stay updated with changes in corporate and securities law that may impact agreements or negotiations.

Candidate Requirements

● Immediate joiner preferred.

● Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised institution; LLM preferred but not mandatory.

● 2 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law.

● Strong exposure to drafting and negotiating agreements, with focus on private equity and venture capital transactions.

● Proven ability to conduct detailed legal research and apply findings effectively.

● Excellent drafting, reviewing, and analytical skills.

● Strong organisational skills with attention to documentation and record management.

● Ability to identify risks and provide practical legal solutions.

● Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.

● Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team
