Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross-functional team comprising Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Commercial Executives for post-order execution of GIS supply orders up to 765KV, catering to both domestic and export markets.
  • Prepare, update, and validate detailed project schedules for supply and I&C packages using MS Project and Excel, ensuring timely deliverables with substantiated planning.
  • Manage and approve control budgets for GIS supply projects, ensuring alignment with business unit (BU) financial goals.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement from Kick-Off Meeting (KOM) to project closure, ensuring 100% compliance with contractual and organizational objectives.
  • Identify, review, and resolve technical issues and documentation gaps impacting project timelines or budgets, coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Compile and maintain MIS reports covering sales forecasts, cash inflow forecasts, risk assessments, delay penalties, bank guarantees, and statutory compliances (including GST and export regulations).
  • Monitor and resolve matters related to insurance claims, bank guarantees (establishment, extension, closure), submission of LCs, and management of additional claims from customers or vendors.
  • Participate in customer meetings to resolve project issues, safeguard margins, and protect project timelines.
  • Lead internal meetings to align project execution with sales targets and BU strategic goals.
  • Draft and escalate contractual communications to customers, ensuring timely documentation and confirmation of order amendments and volume changes.
  • Review supplier documentation and performance to ensure scope alignment, and manage effective change control for scope, time, and cost variations.
  • Handle critical project issues through proactive crisis management to safeguard BU interests and commitments.
  • Promote a continuous learning environment within the team, mentoring potential leaders for future organizational roles.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong academic grounding in electrical equipment supply and installation, particularly GIS systems up to 765KV, including the ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end project management, with emphasis on contract interpretation and compliance.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera, along with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; ability to lead and represent the project team with professionalism.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong analytical and forecasting abilities, problem-solving skills, and a learning attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues by stakeholder consultation, critical analysis, and prompt decision-making with appropriate approvals.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet business objectives.
  • Updated knowledge of best practices in project execution and current market expectations for high-voltage GIS project delivery.
