Lead Marine Structural Engineer

Role Overview: You will be responsible for the structural design of hull, foundation, and outfitting, including design calculations following standards such as IACS/DNV/API/AISC/EuroCode. Your tasks will involve preparing structural drawings, conducting FE analysis, and generating reports. Additionally, you will be expected to perform structural analysis using software like ANSYS, SACS, SESAM, NASTRAN, or FEMAP. Hand calculations will supplement your analysis to ensure code compliance and structural integrity. Collaboration with surveyors, third-party consultants, and overseeing outsourced engineering studies will also be part of your duties. Knowledge of shipbuilding and repair practices is essential, and you may need to provide onsite support for installation and fabrication. Key Responsibilities: - Design hull, foundation, and outfitting structures - Perform design calculations following relevant standards - Prepare structural drawings - Conduct FE analysis and generate reports - Analyze structures using software like ANSYS, SACS, etc. - Collaborate with surveyors and third-party consultants - Review outsourced engineering studies and reports - Provide onsite support for installation and fabrication Qualifications Required: - BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Naval Architecture from a reputed institute - 5 to 10 years of experience - Experience in shipyards or design offices of consulting engineering companies preferred - Good knowledge of structure, outfitting, equipment layout, and strength calculation - Fluency in English, both written and spoken - Highly self-motivated, ambitious, and effective team player - Ability to establish and implement good work practices in the department Additional Company Details (if available): The role may involve Team Management responsibilities, including building the team's capability through training and recruitment support.
