Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled

Lead Test Engineer

with strong expertise in automation frameworks and quality engineering best practices. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end testing activities, drive automation strategy, mentor QA engineers, and ensure high-quality product releases. This role requires deep technical proficiency in

Java + Selenium

, along with hands-on experience in

Playwright/Cypress

, CI/CD integration, and BDD frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Functional Testing

  • Build and maintain robust automation test suites using Java + Selenium WebDriver.
  • Develop and enhance automation frameworks using Playwright/Cypress.
  • Implement BDD using Cucumber/Serenity to improve collaboration and maintainability.
  • Ensure traceability, maintainability, scalability, and continuous improvement of automation suites.

Test Strategy, Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead functional and automation testing initiatives across projects.
  • Define test plans, automation strategy, and quality standards.
  • Mentor QA team members and support capability development.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, architects, product teams, and stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clear communication across teams.

CI/CD & Test Infrastructure

  • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Configure automated builds, scheduled runs, and quality gates.
  • Enable real-time reporting, dashboards, and visibility into automation outcomes.
  • Manage and optimize test data, environment setups, and execution configurations.

Technical Skills

  • 10–12 years of experience in Quality Engineering with strong automation exposure.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Core Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG/JUnit.
  • Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Serenity).
  • Strong experience or good exposure to Playwright and Cypress.
  • Practical CI/CD experience with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
  • Retail domain experience is a plus (not mandatory).

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Ability to set up automation in a greenfield environment and scale it effectively.
  • Strong mentoring skills with the ability to uplift overall QA capability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proactive, analytical, and solution-focused with strong problem-solving abilities.
