Lead Engineer - Materials Engineering

Your Contribution

• Material release activities for series production
• Contribution to product and production projects by addressing material and manufacturing-related topics
• Execution of regional material release projects
• Collaboration with internal and external development partners such R&D, process, purchase, test labs, simulation and suppliers
• Support for material and technology rollout initiatives
• Conducting product and process audits at MAHLE plants to ensure material quality in serial production
• Technical interaction with suppliers in materials engineering topics
• Presentation of test results to internal stakeholders and external partners (development teams, suppliers, customers)
• Maintenance and continuous improvement of material standards
• Research and study of new developments in material areas
  

Your Experience And Qualification

• B.E. Metallurgy, or M.Sc. or PhD in Materials Engineering
• Strong expertise in mechanical, physical, and (electro-) chemical properties of aluminum alloys, stainless steels, and metallic materials in general
• Solid knowledge of corrosion behavior, corrosion protection systems, joining technologies, testing methods, forming processes, and metal physics
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in materials engineering
• Proficient knowledge of standard chemical and metallurgical analytics
• Initial experience in managing technical work packages and development projects
• Confident handling of internal and external standards as well as customer specifications
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
• Proficiency in preparing and presenting technical results

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Self-driven to act independently on specific topics and achieve results
• Visit to travel to different plants, test labs and suppliers.
• Support small to big engineering assignments and handling diversified projects.
