Job Description

Responsibilities for a Laptop Repair Technician: 🔧 Technical Duties Diagnose Hardware Issues: Identify problems with components like the motherboard, RAM, hard drives, battery, keyboard, screen, etc. Repair or Replace Components: Perform repairs or replace faulty parts (e.g., screens, keyboards, fans, ports). Software Troubleshooting: Fix operating system issues, driver conflicts, and application errors. Virus and Malware Removal: Detect and remove malicious software and ensure system security. Data Backup and Recovery: Safeguard data before repairs and recover lost data when possible. Install and Configure Software: Install operating systems, productivity tools, and necessary drivers. BIOS and Firmware Updates: Update BIOS/UEFI settings or firmware for hardware compatibility. System Optimization: Improve laptop performance by cleaning, defragmenting, or upgrading software/hardware. 🛠️ Maintenance & Upgrades Routine Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean internal components and ensure proper ventilation. Hardware Upgrades: Upgrade RAM, storage drives, or other components based on client needs. 💬 Customer Service Client Communication: Explain issues, repairs, and options to clients in understandable terms. Cost Estimates: Provide repair cost estimates and get customer approval before proceeding. Service Reports: Document all diagnostics, repairs, parts replaced, and services performed. 🧾 Administrative & Operational Inventory Management: Keep track of repair tools, spare parts, and equipment. Warranty Checks and Claims: Verify warranty coverage and process warranty service if applicable. Compliance and Safety: Follow safety procedures and proper handling of electronic components. Optional (for advanced or specialized roles): Board-level Repairs (soldering, chip replacement) Apple/MacBook Repairs Training or Mentoring Junior Technicians
