Labour Welfare Officer

JOB SUMMARY A welfare officer is primarily responsible for maintaining harmonious relations between management and blue-collar staff. The officer must ensure staff well-being under applicable laws and regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1) Oversee or support Admin dept. for essential welfare amenities such as canteen, sanitation, working conditions, health services, drinking water, etc. 2) Ensure compliance with statutory requirements regarding working hours, safety regulations, and breaks with HR and the Admin team. 3) Address employees’ personal and work-related issues and escalate when necessary. 4) Conduct training on company policies, employee rights, and welfare schemes. 5) Support productivity improvement initiatives for supervisory and below staff. 6) Educate on health and safety practices and collaborate on accident prevention with the Admin dept. 7) Ensure compliance with working hours, especially overtime. 8) Organize or support employee engagement activities and recognition programs. 9) Monitor employee satisfaction index and identify areas for improvement. 10) Maintain records of grievances and compliance with labor laws. 11) Investigate and resolve employee grievances. 12) Foster harmonious relations among workers. 13) Keep updated on labor laws and regulations. 14) Communicate effectively with employees and mediate disputes. 15) Build trust and rapport with employees from diverse backgrounds. JOB REQUIREMENTS § Master’s degree in Social Welfare from a recognized University. § Effective communication skills § Sound knowledge of the manufacturing industry laws. § 5 to 7 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
