Job Title: Lab Assistant – Cattle Feed Industry

Location: MUGHAL MAJRA, SHAMBHU, RAJPURA (PUNJAB)
Reports to: Laboratory ASSISTANT / Quality ANALYST
Employment Type: Full‑Time / Permanent

Job Summary

The Lab Assistant will support laboratory operations to ensure the quality, safety, and nutritional adequacy of raw materials, in‑process materials, and finished cattle feed. The role involves preparing and analyzing samples, maintaining lab equipment, recording and reporting data, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collect, label, prepare, and store samples of raw materials (grains, by‑products, additives), intermediates, and finished feed products.
  • Perform routine laboratory analyses (e.g., moisture, protein, fat, fiber, ash, pH, particle size) using standard laboratory methods.
  • Operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tests performed, sample logs, calibration records, and quality control data.
  • Report any non‑conformities or abnormal test results to HEAD promptly; assist in investigating causes.
  • Ensure that laboratory reagents, consumables, and stock are available; manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and good housekeeping of the laboratory, sample room, and associated storage areas.
  • Adhere to all safety, hygiene, and quality assurance protocols (e.g., SOPs, PPE, waste disposal).
  • May assist in product development trials or formulation evaluation under guidance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Educational qualification: BSc. ( Chemistry, food technology, Agriculture etc)
  • Prior laboratory experience (especially in feed, agriculture, or food industry) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with common lab equipment and analytical testing (moisture analyzers, protein/fibre/ash‑testing apparatus, pH meters, mixers, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and data logging.
  • Basic computer skills: data entry, spreadsheets, lab record‑keeping.
  • Good organisational skills, ability to manage multiple samples and tasks.
  • Team player with the ability to follow instructions carefully, and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, safety, and quality standards relevant to feed/animal nutrition is a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work in laboratory environment; may include exposure to dust, chemicals, feed ingredients.
  • Standing for long periods; lifting/moving moderate sample weights; handling reagents and glassware.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
