Job: L3 Network Engineer.
Location: Ernakulam/Trivandrum
Job description:
· Handle escalations from L1 and L2 support teams and resolve high-priority incidents related to network operations.
· Perform advanced troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, BNGs, MPLS/VPN, and core infrastructure.
· Monitor network performance and alerts using NMS tools and initiate corrective actions.
· Provide support for subscriber provisioning, VLAN configuration, and service testing on GPON platforms.
· Work on change management processes—plan, test, and execute configuration changes.
· Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and partners to resolve issues and support implementation
· Responsible for performing traffic analysis, designing network optimizations, and conducting capacity planning.
· Document incidents, root cause analyses, and create standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Participate in audits, compliance reporting, and continuous improvement of network processes.
· Lead emergency response to major network outages and service degradation events.
· Provide on-call support as part of a 24/7 operational team
Qualifications
· BE/ B.tech/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, electrical engineering Information Technology, or a related field
· 5+ years of experience in network operations or similar roles.
· Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS), switching, and MPLS. Experience with Juniper platforms is preferred.
· Knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, QoS, NAT, VPN, and multicast protocols.
· Experience with enterprise-grade firewalls.
· Good knowledge of network topology architecture and security
· Strong understanding of ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management).
· Certifications such as CCNP or JNCIS-ENT/SP or JNCIP- ENT/SP are mandatory.
