A Kong Konnect Architect designs, implements, and manages API gateways using Kong Konnect, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. This role involves working with various technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms to deploy and manage Kong instances. Key Responsibilities: Design and Implementation: Architecting and implementing API gateway solutions using Kong Konnect, including defining API strategies, security policies, and traffic management rules. Technical Leadership: Leading the design and implementation of Kong solutions, providing guidance to development teams and ensuring best practices. Integration and Deployment: Integrating Kong with various backend systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and CI/CD pipelines. Performance Optimization: Ensuring the performance and scalability of Kong deployments by optimizing configurations, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing appropriate scaling strategies. Security: Implementing security best practices for Kong, including authentication, authorization, and encryption, ensuring compliance with security policies. Collaboration: Working with other teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure successful deployment and operation of Kong solutions. Staying Updated: Keeping up-to-date with the latest Kong features, plugins, and best practices, and evaluating new technologies for potential integration. Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for Kong deployments, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
