Job Description

The Junior Engineer - Die Maintenance will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, repair, and maintenance of dies used in manufacturing processes. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and collaborating with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize die performance. The candidate will work under the guidance of senior engineers and maintenance supervisors.

Our Multi-modal Manufacturing Facility (MMF) in Pune plays a crucial role in manufacturing key aerospace components, supporting not only India’s defense and commercial sectors but also global aviation supply chains. Roles & Responsibilities

Die Maintenance and Repair

:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of dies to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect dies for wear, damage, or defects and take corrective actions.
  • Conduct troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues affecting die functionality.
  • Knowledge of die design, maintenance, and repair techniques.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities to extend die life and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and die performance.

Die Setup And Adjustment

  • Assist in the setup and adjustment of dies for production runs.
  • Ensure proper alignment and calibration of dies to meet production specifications.

Documentation And Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation of die maintenance activities, including repair logs and inspection reports.
  • Report any recurring issues or potential improvements to senior engineers.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with production teams to address die-related issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with tool room and machining teams for die modifications or replacements.

Safety And Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with die maintenance activities.

Ideal Candidate

Candidate with good exposure to Tool Room activities and Press tool, Jigs Fixtures Manufacturing.

Required Qualification

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in die maintenance or a similar role
  • Exposure to machining tools and equipment (e.g., grinders, lathes, CNC machines).

Preferred Qualification

  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with CAD software for die design and modification.
  • Understanding of materials used in die construction (e.g., steel grades, coatings).
