Junior Civil Engineer

A Junior Civil Engineer provides technical and project support under the guidance of senior engineers, assisting in the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure like buildings. Key duties include conducting site inspections, drafting technical drawings using CAD software, performing calculations, preparing reports, and ensuring projects comply with engineering standards and regulations. This entry-level role offers broad exposure to various aspects of civil engineering projects, making it ideal for gaining hands-on experience and developing a strong technical skill set. Key Responsibilities

• Project Support: Assist senior engineers in planning, designing, and overseeing civil engineering projects such as buildings.
• Design & Drafting: Create and review engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software.
• Site Operations: Conduct site visits, inspections, and data collection to monitor progress, ensure compliance, and identify potential problems.
• Technical Analysis: Perform basic engineering calculations and technical analyses to support design decisions.
• Documentation: Prepare project reports, documentation, and proposals, often contributing to sections of technical reports.
• Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to engineering standards, safety regulations, and construction codes.
• Collaboration: Work with senior engineers, project managers, architects, contractors, and other team members.
• Problem-Solving: Contribute to identifying and resolving engineering challenges that arise during a project.

Skills & Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is typically required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (like AutoCAD) and other design and analysis tools is essential.
