Reports To - Senior Architect

Position Overview

A full time architect with experience in planning, design thinking, working drawings, construction documents and project management. Should be interested to work on a full spectrum of projects including architecture for hospitals, stand alone residential villas and interiors for restaurants and retail outlets. Should be comfortable working on all phases of the project including concept design, working drawings, services integration, construction documents, project management. Should create unique design solutions with intelligibility with consideration to functionality. Needs to work as part of a team but take responsibility for their deliverables. Must think creatively through design problems and apply themselves to arrive at solutions independently. A deep commitment to the quality of drawings and communication. An interest in sustainable building practices would be preferable.

Roles & Responsibilities -

• Develop design concepts to a working drawing phase, ultimately produce construction documents
• Assist the senior members in meeting with clients to program the project requirements.
• Working on structural concepts
• Working for electrical, plumbing and HVAC services and ability to integrate them with the design
• Take feedback from clients and integrating it into the next stage of the design
• Create BOQ’s, accurately quantify and track billing
• Make on site visits to check on project status and report on projects.
• Cooperate and liaise with construction professionals.
• Manages the coordination and logistics of product deliveries and installation.
• Develops and maintains productive and effective relationships with clients
• Keep up to date with architecture technology and design developments
• Ensure that all works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines and regulations

Qualifications -

• Bachelors of Architecture degree or equivalent
• Proven working experience of minimum 2 years as an Architect (Preferred Residential Houses, Hospitals, Interiors for Commercial spaces)
• Strong portfolio to prove design thinking and skills
• Knowledge of building materials, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
• Visual awareness and an eye for detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and self- motivated
• Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure
• Knowledge of tools such as AutoCad, Sketchup, Lumion, V Ray, Rhino, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop
