Roles & Responsibilities:
- To admit patients and perform procedures independently as per privileges bestowed upon him or her as per hospital policy.
- To conduct in-patient rounds independently and with the respective junior consultants, and duty medical officers.
- To mention operation notes and post-operative plan of care in the medical record.
- To supervise registrars and ensure that they discharge their duties in an effective and efficient manner.
- To verify the examination findings & medication orders written by the junior consultants and registrar.
- To impart relevant patient education as and when required.
- To mention date, time, name and signature against all entries in the medical record.
- To countersign any verbal order given to DMOs, Jr. Consultants and Registrars as and when needed.
- To prepare the rota in coordination with the registrar on call.
- To prepare ‘On Call’ rota in coordination with colleagues and registrars in the department.
- To attend to patient’s complaints reported by the registrars or nursing staff as & when required.
- To give orders for discharge as per the patients conditions & intimate the registrar / resident to do the needful.
- To attend to all emergencies while on call.
- To impart training to the residents & registrars.
- To abide by the policies & procedures of the Hospital.
- To help ensure compliance with Quality standards & closure of the non-conformities.
- To be accountable for the work done by the junior members of the team
- Demonstrates all qualities of a team leader
- Responsible for ensuring effective communication in the team
- Continuously identifies and corrects errors in the department
- Critical incident reporting
- Initiates quality initiate projects
- Maintains cordial relation with interdisciplinary teams
- Develops subspecialties
Cognitive Clinical Management:
- Perform and document history & physical examination
- Formulate differential diagnosis
- Develops and documents initial plan of care
- Modifies daily plan of care
- Writes daily progress notes
- Obtain and document informed consent
- Perform preoperative work up
- Order appropriate referrals
- Order appropriate investigations
- Interpret hemodynamic parameters in critically ill patients
- Interpret laboratory & radiology results
- Orders transfusions of blood and blood products
- Order appropriate medication and other
- orders Prepare an appropriate discharge summary
Clinical Non-invasive Management:
- Perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
- Orders, adjusts artificial feeding modalities
- Interpret non-invasive cardiac testing
- Interpret Radiology Reports
- Participation in teaching and academic activities both intradepartmental & interdepartmental
- Works in a team and guides the nursing and support staff
Clinical Invasive Management :
- Performs oral endotracheal intubation
- Inserts IV peripheral
- Inserts Interosseous
- Inserts central venous catheter
- Inserts Arterial
- Performs nasogastric intubation
- Inserts urethral catheter
- Emergency Pleural aspiration
- Bone Marrow Aspiration Biopsy
- Lumbar Puncture
- Performs CPR according to moment PALS guidelines
- Interpretation of radiology reports to identify life threatening abnormalities
Research:
- Conduct medical research to aid in controlling and curing disease, to investigate new medications, and to develop and test new medical techniques.
- To be a thesis guide for fellows, residents and PhD candidates.
Administrative:
- Coordinate and direct work of nurses, medical technicians and other health care providers.
- Manage Paediatric Services, coordinate with other medical activities and formulate plans and procedures.
- Mandatory participation in Medical/ Non Medical audit and quality improvement projects of the hospital
- Taking leardership role in designated areas of work (Ex: PICU/ NICU)
- Working towards development of the designated area (improved quality indicators, increase work load etc)
- Identifying needs of the designated area and bringing into the notice of the reporting senior
- Atire participation in hospital activities (HICC/ Audit/ Quality Improvement projects etc)
Marketing Activities:
· Participation in free camps, school activities, newspaper/ TV, talks, social media awareness
· Initiating various marketing and promotional activities in the concerned department/ designated area of work
· Participation in foundation related activities
Teaching:
- Must take part in the ongoing teaching activities.
- Organize workshops, seminars, conferences at local, regional and national level.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹170,000.00 per month
