A Junior Biomedical Engineer typically assists in the design, development, and maintenance of medical devices and systems, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. They work under the supervision of senior engineers, contributing to projects, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining documentation. Responsibilities include assisting in the design and testing of medical devices, conducting routine maintenance and calibration of equipment, and providing technical support to healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities: Assisting with Design and Testing: Junior Biomedical Engineers support the design and development of medical devices, including creating 3D models, conducting simulations, and performing experiments to ensure they meet safety and performance standards. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: They are involved in the routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of biomedical equipment, ensuring it functions correctly and safely. Technical Support: They provide technical support to healthcare professionals on the proper use of medical devices and assist in resolving any issues that may arise. Documentation and Record Keeping: Junior engineers maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory. Collaboration and Learning: They work closely with senior engineers, participating in project teams and learning from experienced professionals. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all equipment and procedures comply with relevant safety and quality standards. Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving technical issues with medical devices and systems. Following Established Procedures: Adhering to established protocols and procedures for equipment operation, maintenance, and documentation. Skills and Qualifications: Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related field is typically required. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software, simulation tools, and other relevant engineering software. Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues.
