With support of commodity teams, identifies and manages a reliable and effective direct material supplier base for all engineering and platform activities; increases suppliers’ support and involvement in co-design strategies, R&D, part standardization, target costing, quality and cost reduction; tracks material cost for new product key models; responsible for managing vendor tooling budgets for assigned programs to ensure launch is on time, below cost and with quality approved suppliers. Monitors negotiations and implementation of all technical modifications. Coordinates the efforts in managing of Purchasing/ Engineering cost reduction projects Contribute to the vehicle total cost targets Generate and update the business case for savings/ returns Support commodities in sourcing process Experience Required Essential experience and skills: Minimum 10 years of experience in Purchasing, Product development, Project Management or similar A high level of project management skill, with the ability to map out deliverables for the entire development cycle Technical and/or functional expertise on major purchased commodities Advanced computer skills, good analytical and problem solving skills and knowledge of manufacturing/engineering requirements and planning systems required Ability to work independently and with teams. Negotiation skills and excellent communication skills.
