POSITION OVERVIEW: As an Automation Tester, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications. You will work closely with the development and QA teams to understand project requirements, identify test scenarios, and develop automation scripts. Your expertise in test automation frameworks, scripting languages, and software testing practices will be crucial in delivering efficient and high-quality automated test suites. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with the development and QA teams to understand project requirements and identify test scenarios suitable for automation. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate automation tools and frameworks. Execute automated test scripts to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of software applications. Identify and report defects using bug tracking tools, providing detailed information and steps to reproduce. Perform regression testing to ensure that changes or updates do not introduce new issues. Collaborate with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve issues, providing clear and concise information about test results and defects. Continuously enhance and optimize automated test suites to improve efficiency and coverage. Participate in test plan and test case reviews, providing feedback and suggestions for improvements. Collaborate with the QA team to establish and maintain test environments and test data. Stay up to date with emerging trends and advancements in automation testing, and propose their adoption in projects. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (CS, IT, ETC) or Post Graduate Degree in Computer Applications (MCA). Proven experience as an Automation Tester or similar role. Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, processes, and best practices. Proficiency in automation testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Appium, or Cucumber. Experience in designing and developing automation test scripts using scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, or JavaScript). Solid understanding of test automation frameworks and their implementation. Familiarity with version control systems and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and documentation skills to effectively communicate test results and issues to the development team. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
