proactive IT Administrator

who can ensure the smooth functioning, security, and reliability of our systems.

Job Summary

The IT Administrator will be responsible for supporting daily IT operations, maintaining hardware and software systems, and ensuring network and data security. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, user support, and assisting in maintaining cloud and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities

Support day-to-day IT operations, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems and applications.
Manage and monitor network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls (preferably Sophos).
Provide technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues across teams.
Assist in maintaining cloud environments (Azure/AWS), including monitoring and basic configuration.
Handle user account management, permissions, and access control.
Maintain data backup routines and ensure security compliance.
Collaborate with software and DevOps teams to support deployments and IT automation tasks.
Document IT procedures, assets, and network configurations.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Good understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
Basic experience in firewall and router configuration (Sophos, Fortinet, or similar).
Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure preferred).
Basic understanding of data backup, recovery, and security practices.
Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is a plus.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network management.

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail with a proactive learning mindset.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Certifications

CompTIA A+ / Network+ / Security+
CCNA or equivalent networking certification
Sophos Firewall Certification (preferred)
