Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Following the work list to priority as assigned by the Engineering Lead, creating CAD models, layouts, and drawings from conceptual inputs efficiently and on time, generating General assembly drawings and/or manufacturing drawings accurately. The incumbent of this role must be able to self-manage daily work schedules. Under minimal guidance from the Design Team lead, the Senior Design Engineer will assist in providing work training and direction to other Team Members. Qualifications include a post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering and four (4) to six (6) years of experience as a designer of high production injection molds or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate should have 4 to 6 years of working experience in a strong plastic tooling design background, be proficient in working with 2D/3D in Creo (Windchill Platform), skilled in calculating design parameters and applying industry generic or specific codes and standards. Experience in the manufacturing process, including injection molding, good knowledge of Engineering plastic properties, Design for Manufacturing, and proficiency in CAD and CAE, preferably in Creo (Windchill Platform). Strong knowledge in MFG technology and GDNT is also required. The incumbent must possess advanced skills with Creo software (working in Windchill Platform) and FEA (static, dynamics, and thermal) to conduct a wide variety of complex tasks in the creation/production of new designs, prototypes, and/or fixturing and tooling. They will independently apply the science of engineering to design and ensure that all designs are fully supported through calculations. The Senior Design Engineer will play a lead role in working with manufacturing and engineering teams to provide cost-effective solutions to performance problems. Under minimal guidance from the Design Team Lead, the Engineering Designer is responsible for constantly analyzing and producing assembly and complex manufacturing prints for the production of manifolds, hot halfs, and hot runners in a CNC machining environment. Strong attention to detail and an ability to provide timely technical assistance to other team members is required. The incumbent will interface with key stakeholders on new product programs and current product modifications to ensure that their CAD data needs are met.
