About the role

As an IoT System Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative automation solutions for solar energy systems by designing and implementing an end-to-end energy IoT layer. You will be responsible for creating robust IoT system architectures, developing embedded firmware, and building reliable two-way communication layers that seamlessly integrate with energy management platforms. This role involves hands-on hardware prototyping and testing, working closely with solar system engineers and software developers to deliver a compelling solution for custmers.

What you'll be doing

• Design and develop IoT system architecture and automation logic tailored for solar energy solutions.
• Build and program embedded systems, ensuring reliable two-way communication between devices and energy management platforms.
• Conduct hands-on hardware prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting to validate system performance and integration.
• Collaborate closely with solar system engineers and software developers to align hardware and software components seamlessly.
• Implement and maintain communication protocols such as MODBUS RTU/TCP, CAN, MQTT, and others to ensure robust data exchange.
• Optimize sensor integration and smart energy circuit designs to enhance system efficiency and reliability.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in developing embedded firmware for microcontrollers, with a strong focus on reliability and efficiency
• Hands-on experience in sensor integration, smart energy circuits, and control systems within industrial or energy environments
• Understanding of communication protocols such as MODBUS RTU/TCP and CAN for seamless interoperability of system devices
• Familiarity with IoT architectures and networking technologies including MQTT, HTTP, Zigbee, WiFi, and LTE to enable robust data exchange
• Systems thinking mindset with the ability to design and implement end-to-end IoT solutions that integrate hardware and software
• Inter-personal collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including solar system engineers, software developers and UX designers
• Passion for technical product development
• Structured work ethic and documentation at every step for internal transparency

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Embedded Systems, or a related field
• Experience in embedded firmware development for microcontrollers
• Hands-on experience with hardware prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting
