Job Description

Job Summary: -

The Investment Portfolio Manager will be responsible for end-to-end management of the MD’s investment portfolio, including equity, mutual funds, private equity, real estate, and other financial instruments. This role combines strategic investment management with deep analytics, compliance, and reporting to ensure the MD's investments are optimised for growth, diversification, and long-term security.

Roles & Responsibilities: -

1. Portfolio Management

  • Monitor, evaluate, and optimise the performance of a diversified investment portfolio (equity, fixed income, REITs, PE funds, etc.).
  • Execute buy/sell decisions in alignment with the MD’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.
  • Maintain detailed records of asset allocations, NAV, dividends, and capital gains.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Prepare regular reports on portfolio performance, market trends, and emerging investment opportunities.
  • Develop customised financial models and dashboards for real-time tracking and scenario analysis.


3. Research & Due Diligence

  • Conduct market, sectoral, and company-specific research for potential investment opportunities.
  • Evaluate private investments, startups, and alternate asset classes for diversification.

4. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all investments comply with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and manage portfolio risk across asset classes and geographies.

5. Relationship Management

  • Liaise with banks, wealth managers, fund houses, brokers, and legal/tax advisors.
  • Negotiate terms and manage documentation for investment and divestment transactions.

6. Strategic Advisory

  • Provide strategic inputs to the MD on new investment vehicles, exit strategies, and macroeconomic shifts.
  • Support estate planning, succession planning, and philanthropic investment structures if needed.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • MBA (Finance)/CA/CFA (preferred) with 5-8 years of experience in managing high-value investment portfolios
  • Prior experience working with UHNWIs, family offices, or corporate promoters
  • Sound knowledge of taxation, legal structuring, and estate planning
  • Strong understanding of capital markets and financial instruments
  • Analytical thinking and financial modelling
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to multitask across investment categories and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in portfolio management tools, MS Excel, and Bloomberg/Reuters (preferred)
