Job Description Inventory Management Specialist Position Title: Inventory Management Specialist Department: Supply Chain & Operations Location: Thane Reports To: [Specify Manager/Designation] Role Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Management Specialist to oversee inventory accuracy, availability, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing inventory operations, resolving stock discrepancies, and leveraging advanced Excel skills for deep data analysis and reporting. This role is critical for ensuring stock health across platforms and providing actionable insights to senior management. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Oversight & Accuracy - Monitor inventory levels across warehouses and e-commerce platforms to ensure product availability and prevent stockouts/overstocks. - Perform daily reconciliation of inventory reports to ensure system accuracy. - Work closely with warehouse, procurement, and planning teams to align on stock movement and replenishment plans. - Implement proactive inventory audits and discrepancy resolution procedures. Reporting & Data Analysis - Analyze large datasets related to inventory, fulfillment, and product movement using advanced Excel tools (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Power Query). - Generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory performance reports for internal stakeholders. - Track key metrics including stock availability, slow-moving inventory, aging stock, and forecasting accuracy. - Prepare actionable dashboards and MIS reports for leadership visibility. Root Cause Analysis & Alerts - Investigate reasons for stockouts, overstocking, and inventory mismatches. - Develop corrective action plans in coordination with supply chain, procurement, and category teams. - Set up systems to flag critical inventory issues and trigger alerts to senior management. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement long-term inventory control solutions. E-commerce Inventory Monitoring - Review e-commerce dashboards (Amazon, Walmart, etc.) daily to ensure inventory is live and available for sale. - Identify gaps between available-to-sell (ATS) and physical inventory. - Coordinate with catalog and operations teams to resolve listing or availability errors. - Manage inventory hygiene and replenishment triggers for top-selling SKUs. Qualifications & Skills: Required: - Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Commerce, or related fields. - Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management or supply chain analytics. - Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, formulas, conditional formatting, Power Query). - Experience handling and interpreting large data files and reports. - Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. - Ability to multitask, work under tight deadlines, and operate in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: - Experience in inventory management for e-commerce platforms (e.g., Amazon, Walmart). - Familiarity with inventory or ERP software such as NetSuite, Zoho, SAP, or similar. - Basic understanding of demand planning and forecasting techniques.
