About The Opportunity
A leading provider in the tertiary-care healthcare and cardiovascular services sector, delivering advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac care across India. We operate modern catheterisation labs, 24/7 STEMI response capabilities and multi-disciplinary cardiac programs focused on evidence-based outcomes and patient-centred care.We are hiring an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to join an on-site cath-lab team and lead high-quality PCI and angiography services, contributing to clinical excellence, service growth, and training of junior staff.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic coronary angiography and a full range of percutaneous coronary interventions (primary, elective, complex PCI) with high procedural safety and adherence to guidelines.
- Lead on-call STEMI rota and provide rapid decision-making and primary PCI for acute coronary syndromes, coordinating with emergency, ICU and nursing teams.
- Use and interpret intravascular imaging (IVUS/OCT) and physiological assessments (FFR/iFR) to optimise procedural outcomes and stent deployment.
- Manage pre-, peri- and post-procedure patient care including antithrombotic strategies, hemodynamic monitoring, complication management and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, contribute to morbidity & mortality reviews, quality audits and cath-lab KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Mentor and train junior cardiologists, fellows and cath-lab staff; support protocol development, clinical governance and multidisciplinary care pathways.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Medicine/Internal Medicine and DM/DNB in Cardiology (or equivalent specialist cardiology qualification recognised in India).
- Proven hands-on experience in interventional cardiology with independent performance of PCI and coronary angiography (typically 3+ years post DM/DNB preferable).
- Strong cath-lab procedural skills (radial & femoral access), familiarity with stent techniques and complication management.
- Knowledge of intravascular imaging/physiology (IVUS/OCT, FFR/iFR) and contemporary antiplatelet/antithrombotic protocols.
- Valid medical registration in India, up-to-date BLS/ACLS certification and clear medico-legal standing.
Preferred
- Experience with complex PCI (CTO, left-main, bifurcation) and structural interventions (TAVR/MitraClip/LA appendage closure) is an advantage.
- Track-record in academic activities, clinical trials, guideline-driven practice and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication skills in English and regional language(s), and prior leadership or consultant-level experience in a high-volume cath-lab.
