International Accountant

As an International Accountant based in Bangalore within the Finance & Accounts department, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing accounting activities for our operations in Dubai and Singapore. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with international accounting standards, local tax regulations, and company policies. This will involve handling cross-border transactions, foreign currency accounting, and preparing consolidated financial reports for our global operations. Your key responsibilities will encompass various aspects of financial accounting and reporting. You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements in alignment with IFRS and relevant local GAAPs such as UAE VAT laws and Singapore SFRS. Additionally, you will handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for Dubai and Singapore, perform intercompany reconciliations, and ensure timely settlement of balances. In terms of taxation and compliance, you will be tasked with ensuring adherence to international and local tax laws, including VAT/GST, corporate tax, and withholding tax. Collaboration with tax consultants across different jurisdictions for filings and audits will be a part of your role, along with staying updated on changes in tax regulations in our operating countries. Your responsibilities will also extend to treasury and foreign exchange management. You will monitor and reconcile foreign currency transactions and exchange rate fluctuations to mitigate risks effectively. Moreover, you will liaise with internal and external auditors for statutory and group audits, ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks and implementing necessary improvements. Supporting budgeting and forecasting for our global entities, reviewing the financial impact of cross-border contracts and pricing models, and providing financial insights to facilitate expansion into new international markets will be key aspects of your role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, possess at least 5 years of experience as an Accountant in Dubai and Singapore, and demonstrate a strong knowledge of Singapore SFRS and UAE VAT.
