Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Energy Audits & Assessments

  • • Conduct detailed energy audits across yarn sizing, weaving, dyeing, and finishing departments.

  • • Map and benchmark energy consumption of utilities such as boilers, compressors, chillers, dyeing machines, looms, and finishing lines.

  • • Identify specific areas of energy loss, wastage, and inefficiency.

2. Data Collection & Documentation

  • • Monitor and document energy consumption data from meters, logbooks, and automation systems.

  • • Maintain systematic records of utility usage (steam, compressed air, water, electricity, fuel).

  • • Prepare technical reports, energy balance sheets, and recommendations in a clear and structured format.

3. Solution Development & Execution Follow-up

  • • Recommend practical, technically feasible, and cost-effective energy-saving measures.

  • • Collaborate with utility and breakdown maintenance teams to ensure audit findings are understood and implemented.

  • • Track progress of energy-saving projects and follow up until complete execution.

  • • Support procurement and project teams in selecting energy-efficient equipment.

4. Cross-functional Communication

  • • Communicate audit findings, corrective actions, and benefits to department heads and senior management.

  • • Conduct awareness sessions with operators and supervisors to drive energy efficiency culture.

  • • Act as a bridge between external consultants, internal teams, and management for energy initiatives.

5. Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • • Ensure compliance with national energy efficiency standards and sustainability goals.

  • • Benchmark companys energy consumption against industry best practices.

  • • Continuously monitor results post-implementation and suggest further improvements.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • • Strong technical knowledge of textile manufacturing processes (sizing, weaving, dyeing, finishing).

  • • Understanding of utility systems (steam boilers, chillers, compressors, electrical distribution).

  • • Analytical, procedure-oriented, and detail-focused.

  • • Excellent documentation and report-writing skills.

  • • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

  • • Hands-on problem solver with ability to drive execution.

  • • Proficiency in MS Excel, data analysis tools, and energy monitoring software (preferred).

Qualifications & Experience

  • • B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Textile Engineering (Energy Management certification preferred).

  • • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in energy audits within a manufacturing environment (preferably textiles).

  • • Certified Energy Auditor (BEE / equivalent) is an added advantage.
