Job Description

The Research & Innovation team is in charge of managing ideas and problems associated with the companys strategy. The focus is to identify and develop new services and technologies to solve current and future problems of our clients, as well as simplify the organizations processes to aim for greater efficiency. We guide our teams in innovation and transformation processes using standardized methodologies, and thus, we prepare our company for the future.

Research and Insights team at WSP India is looking for a candidate to fill a position that will support the above. The role will be a part of our Research and Innovation team in WSP Canada; working closely with multiple stakeholders in delivering knowledge to enable impactful and innovative solutions. They will be required to solve various types of business problems using appropriate research methodologies for the projects.


  • Post Graduate Diploma/Master s Degree preferably in Business Management.


BGV:


  • Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification ( BGV ) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.

As a Research and Innovation Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:


  • Perform complex qualitative and quantitative research and analysis projects from start to finish, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of results.

  • Interact with the multiple leaders/stakeholders/teams on tasks ranging from creating go-to-market strategies, deriving addressable market size, sharing extensive industry knowledge, analysing new trends impacting the market, to developing intellectual assets.

  • Review and analyze key business metrics to devise plans for improvement, and present strategic recommendations based on research findings to senior management and key stakeholders.

  • Prepare detailed research reports, white papers, and presentations that communicate complex data and insights in a easily digestible manner.

  • Gather, review and analyze business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools.

  • Socialize key market data, long-term trends and insights relevant to WSP and benchmark performance data and relevant economic trends.

  • Understand our top competitors; strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, approach to compete and win.

  • Expand our knowledge of key opportunities and innovations in our industry to support growth.

  • Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes and operations.

  • Develop and refine research methodologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of data collection and analysis processes.

  • Develop and maintain end products in the form of a formal report (PowerPoint presentations, summary documents, or spreadsheet).


Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

The candidate should possess the capability and curiosity to proactively engage with the stakeholders in sharing what is meaningful to the business and steering related conversations.


  • Minimum 5 years experience in managing end to end business research projects independently

  • Perform detailed analyses of target companies, including financial performance, business models, and strategic positioning.

  • Conduct comprehensive research on market trends

  • Strong analytical skills and expertise in structuring the problem and converting information into insights

  • Excellent knowledge of market and competitive intelligence

  • Good knowledge and experience on subjects such as Digital, Innovation, Technology (AI, GenAI), change management, Strategy, Business transformation, Sustainability

  • International work exposure to work collaboratively in a global business environment with business leaders

  • Conducting interviews with internal and external subject matter experts

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal both)

  • Very strong business writing / report writing skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in research and reporting

  • Proficiency with MS-Office Suite with excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills

  • Proficient in PowerBI to analyse data and create dashboards, reports, and insights


Desired Skills


  • Proficient in leveraging AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Rox to enhance research efficiency and quality.

  • Experience of working within Strategy environment

  • Experience of working on subjects such as digital innovation, strategy, sustainability


Solid understanding of professional services, engineering and environmental industries
