Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Analyse proposals and risk details to prepare accurate, competitive quotes for Fire, Marine, Motor, Group Health, Group Personal Accident and Workmen Compensation.
Assess and price risks within underwriting guidelines while protecting portfolio profitability.
Draft/review wordings, extensions, warranties and clauses.
Liaise and negotiate with insurers to obtain optimal terms, conditions and pricing.
Coordinate with sales and servicing teams to close business and resolve underwriting queries.
Track portfolio performance and suggest improvements in underwriting approach.

Preferred candidate profile

Graduate, preferably with insurance qualifications (Licentiate / Associateship or equivalent) and 5 to 8 years experience in general insurance underwriting.
Strong technical knowledge of core lines plus familiarity with other GI products such as Liability, Trade Credit, Engineering and Miscellaneous.
High attention to detail, documentation and compliance.
Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-driven and curious, with a habit of staying updated on market trends, products and underwriting guidelines.
