Instrumentation Engineer

Job Location: Ambarnath

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCSs), and other automation systems to ensure smooth, efficient and safe operation of production lines with minimal manual intervention.
• Collaborate with process and mechanical engineers to select, install, calibrate and validate sensors, transmitters, valves and other control instruments tailored to the specific needs of FMCG and food production environments.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on all instrumentation and control equipment to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
• Regularly calibrate instruments to maintain accuracy in process measurements and product quality.
• Tune and optimize control loops and automation systems to enhance energy efficiency, throughput, and product consistency while maintaining safety and compliance.
• Diagnose and resolve faults related to instrumentation, control systems and associated electrical equipment on the production floor in a timely and systematic manner.
• Coordinate with suppliers and service providers for instrumentation-related projects, procurement and maintenance contracts.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant legal and safety regulations applicable within the Indian food and dairy industry.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
• Proven experience as an Instrumentation Engineer within the Dairy or Food Processing Industry is mandatory.
• Experience in vendor coordination, scheduling maintenance activities and preparing technical reports.
• Strong understanding of PLC/DCS systems, sensors and automation control principles.
• Familiarity with Indian industrial safety standards and regulatory requirements for food manufacturing environment.
