Instrumentation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning:

  • Supervise the installation of instrumentation systems (sensors, transmitters, controllers, and other devices) on construction sites.
  • Oversee the commissioning and start-up of instrumentation systems, ensuring they operate according to design specifications and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during installation and commissioning stages.

Project Management:

  • Monitor project schedules, costs, and performance, ensuring that instrumentation activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, civil) to ensure smooth integration of instrumentation systems into the overall construction project.
  • Lead and coordinate teams of technicians, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure high-quality work.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Ensure continuous monitoring and maintenance of installed instrumentation systems, ensuring their optimal performance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate instruments and control systems on-site to resolve any performance issues.
  • Perform regular inspections and testing to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of design, installation, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and clients, providing progress updates, technical data, and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain as-built documentation and system drawings.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure that all instrumentation activities adhere to safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and safety meetings to identify and mitigate potential hazards related to instrumentation systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Background:

    Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering,

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Instrumentation Engineer, with a strong background in construction projects.
  • Experience in the oil and gas, power, chemical, or manufacturing sectors is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with field instrumentation, control systems, and automation.
  • Familiarity with the installation and commissioning of instrumentation equipment in a construction setting.
