Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative and academically strong Academic Instructional Designer – English (K12) who can design, develop, and deliver high-quality learning content for school-level English curriculum. The role requires strong expertise in storyboarding, script writing, and instructional design methodologies to ensure that content is engaging, pedagogically sound, and aligned with curriculum objectives. The candidate must have an academic background in English Language and Literature and a passion for transforming traditional classroom instruction into interactive, learner-centric experiences.



Key Responsibilities



  • Curriculum Design & Storyboarding
    • Develop detailed instructional storyboards for K12 English modules, integrating text, visuals, and interactive activities.
    • Align storyboards with curriculum standards (CBSE, ICSE, IB, Cambridge, or state boards as applicable).
    • Create age-appropriate and engaging scripts for e-learning, classroom modules, and teacher resources.

  • Content Development & Academic Rigor
    • Write and edit academic content, lesson plans, assessments, and supplementary materials.
    • Incorporate best practices in English language pedagogy to enhance reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
    • Ensure content accuracy, quality, and cultural relevance for diverse learners.

  • Instructional Design & Pedagogy
    • Apply instructional design models (ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Gagné’s Nine Events of Instruction) to content creation.
    • Transform complex literary and language concepts into engaging, easy-to-understand learning experiences.
    • Integrate storytelling techniques to spark student imagination and critical thinking.

  • Collaboration & Review
    • Work with subject matter experts, graphic designers, and multimedia teams to develop end-to-end learning solutions.
    • Review prototypes and final outputs, ensuring fidelity to storyboards and academic integrity.
    • Provide feedback on design quality, creativity, and learning effectiveness.




Required Qualifications & Skills



  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, Education, or related field.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in instructional design, academic content creation, or educational publishing (preferably K12).
  • Core Skills:
    • Strong storyboarding and script writing skills for both print and digital formats.
    • Expertise in English grammar, literature, and creative writing.
    • Ability to design lesson plans, assessments, and teacher guides.
    • Familiarity with instructional design frameworks and edtech tools (Articulate, Captivate, Canva, or similar).

  • Other Skills:
    • Strong editing, proofreading, and research skills.
    • Creative thinker with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
